This Tofino beach couple’s session happened on one of my favourite beaches of all time, Wickaninnish Beach. This is probably the most diverse beach on the Tofino coast, since it has everything from sand dunes to ocean to tall grasses. We had the most perfect sunset for Tatum and Jack’s session! We spent the evening wearing cowboy boots, listening to country, and drinking corona beers.
Tofino used to be this secluded little beach town on Vancouver Island where die hard surfers and locals traveled to for unparalleled waves year round and some seriously good tacos (thank you Tacofino!!). While it’s no longer secluded by any means, it still remains a popular spot for all kinds of people looking to escape the mainland and go for a road trip. Though if you’re looking for those California type beaches for your photos, this is the place to go. My top recommendations for any travel to Tofino would be: the Shoreline, Merge, Shed, Wickaninnish Beach and the Cox Bay Lookout.
Tatum and Jack are long time friends of some of my long-time clients, so when Tatum reached out to me wanting to surprise Jack with a session during his first time to Tofino, I couldn’t resist. We decided on the sand dunes and the country vibe after chatting about their dedication to country music festivals like Stampede, and I’m definitely not complaining! These two felt like fast friends the moment they stepped out of their jeep in that Tofino beach parking lot. The whole evening was spent with a lot of belly laughs and a lot of running around the stunning shoreline. We even had a black bear visit us half way through.
This Tofino beach couple’s session is just one of the reasons why Tofino is one of my top places to document in. Check out this surfer session I did last year here!
Cheers Tate and Jack, can’t wait for beers with you guys.
