They started their day with a first look at Iona Beach in Richmond BC, with only their siblings and parents joining them. We took their portraits among the tall dry grass and then moved down to the water for a few more. The ceremony took place on the concrete dock of the UBC Boathouse, which had a killer view of the mountains and the turquoise coloured water. Their setup was simple with classy white chairs, and baby breath adorning the aisle and altar. The rest of their day was spent catching up with all their guests on the dock, and then moved the reception inside the boathouse for a Tacofino dinner, speeches, and dancing. We snuck away for a few sneaky sunset photos and then they ended the night with sparklers.
With huge glass windows you get an incredible view of the mountains and sunset during your reception! You can choose to do your ceremony either in the Boathouse or down on the docks like Lexie and Brandon did. I’d definitely recommend doing it down at the dock if you have good weather! The colors and backdrop are hard to beat!. And I know I have previously praised Iona Beach in other blogs but I’ll emphasize once again how gorgeous this location is for portraits and first looks! You get everything from tall dry grass fields to beautiful ocean at this one location. It’s also a great spot for photos if you are including a car, as there is a beautiful stretch of road right at the water’s edge. Plus it’s a short drive to the UBC Boathouse and to my other favorite venue, the Saje Restaurant! If you are also thinking of doing a UBC Boathouse Wedding in Vancouver, I’d love to be the one to document it.
Shot on digital and 35mm Film.
Second Shooting for Park & Co
