This day was a dream. Louise and Dave have become some of my favorite people, and I am so incredibly honored to have been the one to document their incredible wedding day. I take pride in the connection I cultivate with my couples, but it could bring me to tears just thinking about these two and the time we had. I’ll never forget this day, the joy, even the feeling in the air. Truly one of the most magical days I have experienced yet.

Truly one of the most magical days I have experienced yet.Louise and Dave, you have my heart, and I am so grateful I got to be the one to photography your wedding at the Saje Restaurant in Vancouver B.C.
I had never been to the Saje Restaurant at UBC until this wedding, but all I can say is WOW. If you are looking for a modern and simple venue for your intimate wedding, this is the place for you. This is the perfect spot for that long table setup with twinkle lights up overhead. It’s right by Wreck beach which is gorgeous for sunset portraits (though be aware that this is a nude beach and that there are at least 200 stairs to get there!). This venue is simple and elegant and was absolutely perfect for Louise and Dave’s wedding.
When I asked Louise what she was looking for in her wedding photos, she said that she wanted something clean, classy, and candid. They were traveling from Ottawa for their wedding in Vancouver so they really wanted some of that British Columbia nature to shine through. I suggested that we go to Iona Beach for their first look so that they could get that PNW feel with the tall grass, rope walk ways, and a stunning view of the ocean. And then we decided to sneak away later in their day for a part 2 with their golden hour photos down at Wreck Beach. The Saje Restaurant was the perfect venue for their wedding and for what Louise was looking for. Clean lines, simple elements, the most perfect ivy covered wall for family portraits, and even a rooftop that allowed me to get a view of the mountains for some of their reception photos! Safe to say that I will always be down to photograph a wedding at the Saje Restaurant in Vancouver BC.
